The advances in technology, particularly in electronics, the Internet and social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) has yielded an incredible pace in the proliferation of new products and services in the market place. Beyond the dramatic impact that technology has had on our cultures, people of faith are faced with reconciling their beliefs, values, spiritual growth and mission in life with these new technologies and products.
Many people of faith struggle with product selection because of the difficulty of keeping up with the new, varied and frequent introduction of new technologies. For many, they simply don’t have the time nor the inclination to investigate or review such a vast number of products. Others struggle with whether technologies such as the Internet, social media and others are anti-thetical to their personal spiritual growth or the mission of their church.
As a Pastor, student of the Bible and a professionally trained Electrical Engineer, I have learned that these technologies are just tools. They are tools that can and should be used in personal spiritual growth and in the advancement of the faith community. In fact, I dare say that it is God who has given such ablility to man for righteous purposes. I duly recognize and acknowledge that there are some who will misuse or abuse technologies and products for unrighteous purposes. Therefore, wisdom as always, is the order of the day!
I look forward to using my experience, education and passion for faith and the use of technology to engage your faith and spiritual growth in the face of cultural realities in the market place. I invite you to share this blog on your social media and subscribe via RSS feed.
